The Best Park to See Concerts in Memphis: Mud Island Park Amphitheater

On this episode of Memphis Revealed we will be touring Mud Island Park.

Mud Island’s newest attraction is the fantastic, colorful Memphis sign. You can see it all the way from the Mississippi River. It’s been a real hot spot for tourists and locals alike who have enjoyed posing both in front of it and on top of it for photos! The sign was opened up earlier this year.

At the far southern end of Mud Island Park you can see the Hernando de Soto bridge which was the original bridge across the Mississippi. From this end of the park you also have a view of Tom Lee Park and the Memphis skyline.

Another cool stop on our tour of Mud Island was the scale model of the Mississippi River. The model really shows you all the nooks and turns. Plus, you can trace it all the way from the northern beginning to the Gulf of Mexico.

We couldn’t leave Mud Island Park without jumping in the bright yellow tire swing! You don’t get to see tire swings as often anymore so we ...

Exploring The Best Park in Lakeland, Tennisee: International Harvester Park

Welcome to another episode of Memphis Revealed. Today, we are going to explore International Harvester Park in Lakeland, Tennessee.

I love all of the family activities International Harvester Park has to offer. The park consists of 65 acres of rolling hills. There are several spots I really want to show you.

The first stop on our tour is the Lamp Amphitheatre that was built just a few years ago. You can enjoy free concerts all summer long! Bring a picnic blanket and some snacks to enjoy the perfect summer evening. There’s even a dance floor if you’ve got your dancing shoes on.

The second stop is the International Harvester Park Managerial Building. This building has a great banquet hall inside. If you are hosting any community meetings, this is the perfect spot. The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts convene here as do several neighborhood associations. Check out the website to get more information on cost and availability.

Finally, be sure to enjoy the three miles o ...

Things to Do in Memphis This Weekend: Visit the Town of Collierville

Today on Memphis Revealed, we are touring Collierville Square! This hidden gem is packed with shops, events, and even a little history. The historic town square is surrounded by restaurants. In the center, there’s a gazebo for visitors to enjoy. The park is filled with trees and flowers creating a great environment for the family.

Nine of the best restaurants in Memphis, ranging from an old Scottish pub to a local fried chicken spot, are dotted around the area. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Our first stop is the old stage coach building originally built in 1851! It was moved to Collierville and dedicated in 1977. The best part about this old building is that it is open to visitors. You can go on in and walk inside to see how things were built back in the day. It is also furnished with objects that were common at the time of construction.

Another stop on our tour is the United Methodist Church, built in 1900! It was the first sanctuary on the square. ...

Things to Do in Memphis: Shelby Farms Park

On this episode of Memphis Revealed, I am showing you around the beautiful Shelby Farms Park.
Shelby Farms is one of the largest urban parks in the country with over 4,500 acres of land, 40 miles of trails, and more than 20 bodies of water! My personal favorite is Hyde Lake.

This park is full of activities for the whole family. With all of the water around, give paddle boating, canoeing, or kayaking a try. There are also playgrounds and tons of trails to hike, bike, or run.

When I said this park was fun for the whole family, I wasn’t joking! Shelby Farms has a fantastic off-leash dog park. There is a ton of space for them to run around and jump in the water. Bring your pups out to play. They will enjoy this Memphis gem too!

Shelby Farms even has real life buffalo! You can get pretty close to these big guys. I don’t know anywhere else in the Memphis area where you can get within twenty feet from a real-life buffalo.

If you need more animal adventu; ...
